First time baking Banana Bread

Today, I baked bread for the first time in my life. It was banana bread.

At some point during the process, I started doubting myself, thinking it would turn out disgusting. I was sure the batter wouldn’t set, the flavor wouldn’t be great, I had mixed up an ingredient, or something had just gone wrong while following the recipe.

As it baked and the smell of fresh banana bread spread through my house, I realized everything had turned out fine, and it was probably going to taste delicious.

Then I thought about how sad it is to live with negative thoughts constantly, thoughts that creep in even when doing something as simple as trying a new recipe… Imagine the kind of thoughts I have when I’m about to make decisions that could actually change the course of my life.

Perfectionism and fear of failure are my real enemies.

In the end, the banana bread turned out great, and I got to make my girlfriend happy just because I took the risk. I’m not posting a picture here because I’m too lazy for that.

🍞 Surviving one more day is enough. Thanks for reading.
