Life lately:
These past couple of months have been particularly simple in my life.
In February I was supposed to travel to Japan for two weeks with two of my best friends, but our flight had a layover in Canada and unfortunately my visa was denied a week before departure. I had to cancel everything and watch the trip through the Instagram stories of the ones who did go. It was, honestly, very disappointing, but it has also made me feel grateful for my life, because the fact that this was my biggest problem in recent months makes me feel very privileged.
I’ve been working out again—over a month now without breaking the streak. I’d like to write more in-depth about this in a separate post because lifting weights has genuinely changed my perspective on exercise as a habit.
I feel like this period of calm is the result of years of effort, during which my main goal was to build a quiet life without drama and without worries. I hope it lasts a long time.
What about my hobbies?
Currently playing:
TEKKEN 8 — I’m still addicted. There’s no cure for me. I love this game and I’ll keep loving it and playing it, with or without Harada.
Resident Evil Requiem — I’m a big fan of this saga, and I waited for Requiem every single day from the moment it was announced. Personally, it met each and every one of my expectations. The fact that the gameplay is a hybrid combination of two of my favorite RE titles (7 and 4) felt simply perfect to me. There are a couple of things that didn’t fully convince me, especially regarding the plot, but in the end it’s a very remarkable experience that I’ll keep playing for years and years.
Currently reading & watching:
Vagabond by Takehiko Inoue — Started reading in July. The art has been incredible, as well as the characters and how their relationships evolve throughout the story. I was expecting this to be good, but not THAT good. Love how the battles feel super zen and realistic (maybe similar to how real samurai battles played out in that era?), without losing the creative spark.
Serial Experiments Lain — I finally decided to watch it. I’m halfway through and very curious to see how this is going to end. The themes it touches on—about identity and how we present ourselves in digital spaces—feel incredibly relevant today. The vibe and aesthetic are another standout aspect; the sound of the static relaxes me.
Currently on my mind...
There are a few personal milestones I’d like to reach, but I don’t feel ready to pursue them just yet.
