Thank you for reading

Since I started writing here, I’ve always ended my posts with a “thank you (or thanks) for reading.” Adding that phrase at the end—usually after a short line reflecting on my day—started as a little habit that eventually faded as the days went by. But the “thank you for reading” has always stayed because thanking the people who take the time to read my words feels essential to me.

Time is the most valuable resource we have, and even though we live in an age where it's more common than ever to spend it staring at screens, that very fact has only made it more precious—because fewer and fewer people are willing to spend it on something meaningful. So many things, every day, every hour, every second, are fighting for our attention just to profit off of it.

Whether reading my blog is a good investment of time or not depends entirely on the person reading it—on how much they enjoy it, or how valuable my words are to them. Still, as someone who respects writing not only as a form of art but also as an activity that nourishes the spirit, I feel a deep need to express my gratitude for being read—because it’s thanks to the reader that the cycle can be completed.

For me, writing ends when the words are read by someone else. The reader is just as important as the writer. Both are necessary for the words to truly serve their purpose in this world.

Now, I don’t mean to say that writing for oneself has no meaning. And I’m definitely not trying to devalue the words that haven’t been—or may never be—read. One isn’t more important than the other. Some words are written never to be read. Because writing, at its core, begins with us and is for us. It’s a need we carry. A catalyst for the soul. A way to express ourselves. Being read is simply another part of that process, one that might never be complete. And that’s ok too.

Being read is a privilege; most of the time, it’s a matter of luck.

That’s why I always end my posts with a “thank you for reading.” I’m not sure it was necessary to explain this, but I felt the need to say it, and that’s what this blog is about. About doing it. Saying it. Without overthinking. Even if the cycle never fully concludes.

Thank you for reading.
